Heading home

I went on a search for celebrities before I left L.A. ... loaded my suitcase on two buses and headed to a coffee shop that I heard was rife with celebs getting their caffeine fix. This was not that shop.

This was the coffee shop, or at least what I got there.
And besides maybe Bob Saget's son, this is the only person of interest I saw there:
I had fun on the airplane with free wi-fi and some "Doom" video game. I also wasn't traveling with co-workers so I didn't feel as awkward shooting all these photos from my window.

Ballard.

My house.

Going downtown ...

I toured around downtown on my last night in L.A. I hadn't really explored the area right near my hotel, and it was pretty great.

These are some pictures of my hotel from various points nearby.
The library was kitty-corner from the hotel. It was beautiful:

And the elevators were covered in card catalog cards:

And Pershing Square was nearby too:
And another shot of inside my hotel:

True tourism

A few shots of my hotel:

Then we went for some serious Hollywood tourism:

The Sylvester Stallone picture has a story. I was getting a kick out of "trying on" the footprints of the male stars, because I have roughly the same size feet as them. As I'm taking the Sly photo, a guy goes "They sure made them small back then," referencing feet. I go, "Sylvester Stallone? No, man, I just have big feet." He goes, "Oh, I guess you do."
